TO MOVE OR NOT TO MOVE... That is the question.
The overwhelming majority of seniors wish to remain in their homes for as long as possible. Many homes are not designed to meet our needs as we age, but there are solutions to deal with different issues that may arise.
It is well worth taking the time to evaluate how well your home is working for you. Then you can decide whether adaptations to your current home could solve the issues or if it may make more sense to begin looking for another home that will better suit your current and future needs.
Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) puts out an excellent self-assessment guide that dicusses 10 areas of the home and suggests adaptations that may help resolve those issues.
If you would like a copy of the Guide, contact me at 905.845.4267 or send me a quick email at annealkok@royallepage.ca and I would be happy to get it to you right away. It can be a good first step in determining whether to move or stay in your current home.
I look forward to hearing from you.
